3 Faces of Spirit - Meditation & Prayer
March 21, 2011 - 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Who or What or Where is God These Days?
We live in a time when our concepts are God, Spirit, the Holy One or Oneness, are being put into question on a large scale. More and more people call themselves "spiritual but not religious." But what does this really mean? Are we just missing out on the breadth and depth of God because we choose to reject old ideas which no longer square up with our modern and post-modern cultures? Have we thrown out certain aspects of the divine, and found ourselves parched by the dryness of "Principle" or "Absolute" that we now call God? In our quest to embody the "I Am Presence" within, have we lost out on the comfort and personal transformation that can occur while experiencing deep reverence of the Beloved Other?
This and other questions have crossed my mind in exploring Integral Spirituality in the past decade. I'd love to explore them further, with you, on Monday, March 21, 2011 and beyond. I hope you will join me for the Integral Cafe next week so that we might come together in spiritual reflection and practice with the 3 Faces of Spirit.

If you've ever wondered - "Who or What is God?" or are troubled by how to reconcile your experience of Spirit in nature, and the God of your childhood, this session is for you!
This practice session comes with an invitation to move beyond the post-modern concept of God which rejects the 2nd Face of God and either focuses on 3rd person (Principle or God in Nature) or 1st person (I am Presence within). As we transcend the exclusive focus on God out-there, or the repression of any outer-God Reality, we open to a deeper and higher experience of God.
Through experiential practices and rich dialogue we will explore how we can answer the call to expand our awareness and experience of the Divine while transcending and including old ways of being and believing.
Join Sophia Ducey for a dynamic exploration of the path of Integral Spirituality, in which all three faces of God come together to transform our practices, and the depth and breadth of our experience of the divine.

Ken Wilber
To bring about a complete spiritual awakening, we must embrace what he calls "the three faces of God." Wilber points outs that God or Spirit can be experienced and engaged from three distinct perspectives: 1st person, 2nd person, and 3rd person. God as Self; God as Holy Other; and God as Everything.
Yet, it is all too easy for us to become lost in one of these "faces of God" at the expense of the others. For instance, many of us have had powerful first-person "enlightenment experiences" that revealed to us the divine nature of our Self.
But in the rejection of the always humbling recognition of the second-person face of God-- God as Other, our first-person spiritual experiences have often made us more egocentric-- not less so.
