February Integral Cafe - Integral in the Developing World
Gail Hochachka and Michael Simpson of Integral Without Borders will share some stories about how they are using Integral in the developing world for human well-being and sustainability, particularly in West Africa and Latin America. This will include some photos and stories from the field, allowing all of us to get a real sense of what is possible with the integral philosophy in developing world contexts.
For the experiential part: They will facilitate a self-inquiry and small group discussions around the following topic:
Integral theory explains the basic moral intuition is to support the greatest depth for the greatest span, and suggests that we’ll each have unique expressions of how that looks and feels in our own lives. Ken Wilber has taught on how every action produces karma (bondage) with the exception of actions in two categories, namely: those actions that are taken under the Bodhisattva vow (or equivalent) and actions that flow from one’s Unique Self.
- How do you enact these types of actions in your life?
- How do you currently orient to that basic moral intuition?
- In what ways are you willing to deepen and refine that offering?
- How can we as a community hold each other in that deepening?
Come ready to explore these profound questions - for yourself and for the world!
Also offered by Gail & Michael: March 25-27, 2011
