May Integral Salon - Quadrant Orientation
Introduction to the Quadrant Orientation
You are invited to our first ever pre-salon AQAL orientation.
This Monday, May 17, from 7:00-7:30pm, the Vancouver Integral Salon will provide an introduction to integral theory in the Centre for Peace. This is an opportunity for those new to integral theory, or those who want a simple overview to refresh their understanding of the integral model.
This is for new people, and people bringing new people, or anyone wanting a review.
We are developing this orientation so that people new to the salon get a grounding in the basic AQAL map, so they are not lost in the salon presentation. We have noticed in the past that when new people came, and felt lost, that they had needless suffering and they rarely came back. So we want to reduce the suffering.
Also the presenter had to take extra time going over the map. Now they will know that everyone is coming in with a basic understanding.
So do your friends a service, and send them early. Thanks.
Starting at 7:30pm, there will be a presentation on Quadrant Orientation. This presentation is based on the four quadrants of Ken Wilber’s AQAL (All Quadrants, All Levels, All Lines). We each wear different glasses through which we experience life. Each person tends to focus primarily on one of the four quadrants: their inner world, their behavior or the material work, their relationships, or the systems/environment in which they live. As one determines their primary, secondary and least orientation, one can see how their way of thinking can either be compatible and/or in conflict with another’s way of thinking or viewing the world or any situation in which they find themselves. This awareness allows for greater understanding of one’s own focus as well as how to relate more effectively to others with different orientations.
No prior knowledge of integral theory is necessary. This will also open new avenues of understanding and application for those who have no/some/extensive experience with integral theory.
